I assumed the latter.
I been to their place, it's very very low keys and have only have a couple people working there.
Not saying it's excusable, just that they're a much smaller company than it looked.

What was he supposed to do? Your problem was with the courier and even that was understandable: busy at Xmas, really?
I agree that you should have had a reply, but your reaction is excessive. What's this new gripe: "...and ignorant too [sic] boot."?
Jeez, you've even got shitty with the courier for delivering it: did it occur to you that they are doing Saturdays to catch-up with the backlog?

How could Charlie have sorted it? Once it was consigned to Parcel Force it was out of his hands: what control do you think he has over Parcel Force?
I agree that not returning your calls or e-mails is poor, but it hardly makes him a "bad trader": busy, lazy or poorly organized perhaps, but that's all.
And you still haven't explained why he is ignorant.
If people have been put in here for less (than not returning a phone call), then that's shit.

From what I've heard Charlie is a decent guy who runs a smallish shop and internet business, if he's been out riding or just having a day or two off then it's hardly that big a deal, not everywhere runs 7 days a week. The bad trader seems to be parcel force, not Charlie.

Charlie not answering or getting back to me....poor after sales. ....
Like I said not Charlie's issue, he's done his bit, but some after sales help or just a phone call back would have been nice.Fair enough - that all sounds a bit disappointing.
Going to get in contact with the bank and get my money back, luckily I paid by card and will be covered.
I do not recommend ordering stuff from Charlie, terrible after sales service and ignorant too boot.

Update: ctbm got in touch via email, offered apologies and said he will try to get express charges refunded. I feel I need to leave this post here until that happens, then karma will be restored....I think that's fair enough
Seems like a fair response from Charlie. But as for karma, well, if every act done, no matter how insignificant, will eventually return to the doer with equal impact, I wouldn't like to be in your shoes, assuming this is how you normally behave.

Having a mid-ride pint this summer, chatting to some fellow cyclists - I realised I was actually talking to Charlie! He's a great bloke, and I've never had a problem ordering from him. Taking a day or two to chase something isn't perfect, but it's better service than a lot of places would give.

Like you say it was out of my hands, and in parcel forces hands. There was nothing I could have done whilst parcel force were messing around. I left us asap..
But whilst this is online for all to see.... allow me to conclude
We have had a friendly exchange of emails.
I responded as soon as that email was picked up.
The parcel was delivered late, on saturday 8/12.
You had your refund instantly, on saturday 8/12 for the delivery charge at £8.99.So to anyone reading this....
- parcel force make mistakes (as they employ human beings), but they are the most reliable courier we have found.
- I look after my customers. You know I ride bikes, and buy from other shops, I am just like you, but have a bikeshop, and probably bigger hair.
- We get countless emails and phone messages everyday (over 400), we can not always respond to these instantly. It would be nice but its not always possible. That week was particularly busy, with a busted wrist, and a lot going on.

Michelle (aka Mrs Bikemonger) has pointed out that you originally paid by an "e cheque" a paypal payment that takes about a week to clear. She contacted you to explain, as she could see you had paid for 24 hr delievery, which would not be possible without cleared funds. I would not say we went an extra mile, but we exceeded customer service standards at 99% of mail order outfits, to ensure that your bars left ASAP, which they did. Can you imagine CRC, Wiggle etc etc doing this?

Is this the right place to Nerg bike shops?
Charlie the bikemonger - ordered and paid extra for 24 hours delivery for yesterday on some £125 jones bars. Didn't arrive....fair enough not their issue down to parcel force. Still not arrived. They won't answer phone, I left message on answer machine three times....no phone call back for help or to even ask if I've got parcel yet (I haven't )
Poor show Charlie...won't be using you again or recommending you.
