  • edit: I see you've been here for weeks. Never mind, welcome nonetheless.

  • I still want some spaceships done; Sputnik, Saturn V, lunar lander, Voyager, Hubble, etc... Been thinking about it for ages but haven't done much research into who could do it... Any thoughts?
Thought it might be fun to go trad sailor style, it's fun seeing modern objects depicted out of their chronological context... But something more tech/modern could also look awesome...

  • No, the lesson here is that your 'BUMP' post was pointless,
    o
What the fuck you think this place would look like if everybody would go 'BUMP'
the threads they want to 'read later that evening' ?!

Fucking hell chill out post police its the internet.

[QUOTE=nesbit;3288240]hahaha can everyone calm the fuck down. Jayson, welcome to the thread, people are normally a lot friendlier here.

On another note, has anyone been to Vagabond on Hackney Road? My old flatmate had a tiny little piece by someone there, but it's so small I cant really judge the quality.[/QUOTE

Wow, TK, yeah I think some chiling out is in order, or try & at least put your point across with a bit less conviction, unless u want to come across as hostile & a bit anal, it was just a harmless couple of bumps ffs as rich says its the internet full pointless & wonderful things.

Nesbit, thank for taking time to try & bring the thread back to some normality, & for your welcome, don't know of the tattooist in hackney, don't they have a website, fb profile, or my space account ?

  • oh yeah, I've been into the shop as well, but I tend to trust first-person accounts more than flash and pictures.

I feel like this could be fucking rad. But equally absolutely shocking. Getting the right person will be totally key

hear what your saying there, Nesbit, I found their tumblr account if that helps you in anyway

  • I'll also need my fave planets in there, Saturn and Jupiter (including moons)...
The more I think about it, the more I think an old style sailor thing would work...

  • Depends what style you want, Joe. Bez at Triplesix does awesome realistic stuff.

  • Like TL said, you'd need the right artist for that.

  • I don't want a whole sleeve piece, I want them to work on their own but look good as an ensemble... A bit at a time maybe...
I'm gonna be in Oz over the summer, some great artists there and much cheaper than London too...

It sounds like an awesome project, no one jumps to mind with me, but I would say just start the reasearch, for me its all part of the fun, big tattoo planet might be a good place to start, or depending where you are in the country get out to some conventions, (not that there are many this time of year, but brighton convention is just round the corner)

have fun though and post results of any thing you get done

  • ^^ Artists in Oz are not cheap from what I have heard and seen. You're probably looking at least upwards of $150 p/hr especially for a larger work like a sleeve. Would like to be proved wrong on this though as I'm heading back there next year.

  • Yeah, from my experience it's not necessarily cheaper over there. Go to Bondi and see Stevie Edge, but be prepared to pay as much as you would over here. And he's vicious.

  • Getting a tattoo in Australia might be a ballache though - not being able to go in the sea or sunlight afterwards

  • It'll be winter then.

    #southernhemisphere

  • Winter in Oz is still five million (circa) times better than our summer. Pisti is right, but it's never stopped people from getting them. Just cover up and apply enough sun block.

  • Slain- not sure what you're after but from a design pov this could be a good source for inspiration http://history.nasa.gov/diagrams/diagrams.htm

  • I've been all over that shit since I was about 3, Jan... ;)

**Bit of advice when at the beach: **Never, ever go in the water... Never, ever take your shirt off...

  • Sharks?

  • Blubber...

  • I've got some vintage propaganda posters stored at my parents house, grandad bought them when he was still shipping, always thought I would get one done as a tattoo, never happened.

  • Here's a dodgy photo of my latest, a boxing hare on my forearm to (really belatedly) mark my veganniversary. Done by my pal Kel at Asgard in Winchester

Here's my previous tattoo by Kel, a cheeky little bear on my shin.

More to come as I get enough money.

  • Love the bear.

So far I have a tiger on my right arm, a phoenix on my left. One day I'm hoping to have a bear somwhere, and lions on my calves.

Would like the bear as a back piece but realistically I don't think I can face the pain ( I suffer ha...)

  • The shin wasn't too bad actually, I was expecting it to be a lot worse for some reason. The worst I've had is on the inside of my wrist.

  • Yup bears rock
