    Although it would be interesting to establish what percentage of the drivers overall value/wealth the car represents I suppose.

    the value of the car is in the chassis/engine numbers. a ferrari 250 GTO will cost the same (for the purposes of the discussion) as an e-type to rebody if you bend it. an alloy panel is an alloy panel. unless you bust something you can't replace (rare), or fuck it beyond rebuilding (even rarer), obviously.
