    Porsche are stunning. So are Rolex.

    That's the wonderful thing about opinions - we all have them. But being the herd creatures we are quite often we opt into something because of 'belief' and a presumption around something. Some brands are masters at generating this - but it doesn't mean their product is essentially better.

    I was at Alsal Watches a couple of weeks ago and it came up in conversation that the ETA movement in a Junghans Max Bill (just under a grand) is the exact same movement in a good deal of high end IWCs (quite a lot over several grand).

    My point being that price does not always reflect quality and if you buy the likes of Rolex and believe you're paying just for quality and cutting edge design (actually they've just found a formula for them that works and constantly rehash it) and you're not paying above and beyond for a perceived value and a brand reputation then you're exactly the kind of person that Rolex cherish. A mug with deep pockets :)
