Best cyclocross bike under £1000 and other CX chat

I've bee riding aound on a Genesis Day One now for about a year, bought it off eBay for £300. It's single speed so not very suitable for cross racing but geared low enough to make it purposeful for everyday CX duties.

I have to say it's one of the best bikes I've ever owned. It's so versatile.
