I nipped through some cones as a shortcut and ran straight into a big roadwork trench, went over the bars and landed on face/elbows. Couldn't really move after, some nice folks stayed with me and called police. Got taken to cop shop and give a cuppa, then ambulance arrived and checked me over. They reckoned I've chipped a tiny piece off my arm bone. But the hospital waiting times were enormous and so I signed a disclaimer and got a cab home. I'm at work today and feeling sore, but I think all's well. Wheel is badly buckled, possibly rim is ruined, but forks look OK.
Here's the damage:

Moral of the tale: cones are there for a reason.
