    out of interest why don't these challengers attempt the records at night? surely it would be a lot easier with the less traffic and would get a straight clear run?

    Tester is quite right about the suck and blow effect of heavy traffic – many have exploited it in the past, sometimes by devious methods.

    Record breaking at night? It’s dangerous enough in daylight, and in any case the traffic lights are still there at any time of day.

    When you say Loz seems ‘a proper nutter’ are you saying it’s mad to try to ride at that speed in those conditions, or that the whole project is too risky?

    These recent pictures are all from the Worthing ride, and the rain only lasted for about thirty minutes. The wind that came with it was only a hindrance for the last part of the southward journey, and was a big help from Worthing back to the finish. Naturally, I’ve tried to pick photos that look interesting – most of the 110 miles were not particularly exciting.
