  • The bike is so close to being of parts from roughly the same era, like it's a beater from a classy parts bin.

Pretty much sums up the build. Only thing that was bought specifically was the frame and stem.

Restraps are ok but I'd keep them for 700cmx or folder/townbike. I found it a little harder to spin too (as your feet are set so wide apart).

I'm quite wide, feels like less pressure on my knees having a wider q factor, I find riding the straps much better for about town, and even some longer rides. I'd been having knee and right achilles issues following my fixed tour this summer, find being able to change foot position depending on whether I'm climbing or descending etc really helped with recovery.

Clipless is without a doubt faster, better acceleration, climbing, power transfer, less fatigue on long rides... Restraps are more comfortable though, and convenient... I've got some of those old single sided ATACs I'll stick on and try.

If you get pursuit bars I think it needs LA84s or something else curvy and old

no way! would be going for minimal drop not maximal...

Aero seatpost, flite titanium, black quill stem and some aggressive pursuit bars

that'd be my idea of the raddest setup

Aero as in carbon fin or vintage Dura Ace? Was thinking if I get B'Jammins Ti seatpost, put that on the road bike and take the ti USE off the road bike and fit to this.

Black stem and pursuit bars may be in the pipeline, haven't heard back from markairsy though.
