    Did you ever get that crankset? You should ask Louis (khornight2) about a possible flip-flop setup. Although I think your dropouts are shorter than his.

    The simplest thing I did was aim for the same number of teeth (one ratio is 32x12=44 teeth total, the other is 28x18=46... Originally I was 28x17=45). If you can work out two ratios that are the same number of teeth they won't use exactly the same amount of chain, but they will be close enough.

    If you want to be totally accurate there are chain length calculators out there and the maths isn't too hard (as long as you can work out circumfrance of a semi circle and the hypotonuse of a triangle)...

    An easier short hand is that of two sets of gears with the same number of teeth, the one closer to 1:1 (ie the polo one) will require less chain. So aim to have more teeth onyour polo gear.

    Also set up the one with the least teeth first and set it up so it's at the edge of the drop outs... It's easier to remove another link than add one in! :)
