Should be selling my Onza Tuff Guy fork from my polo bike soon, too. 26", steel, disc/v compatible, no paint - £20.
Why are you selling your fork and wheel? I take it you wouldn't want to post them?

Wanna try out my winter riding position tomorrow.

Anyone got an a-head stem with 26mm clamp for sale?
-
• #3316
normal 25.4 one will work from my experience.
-
• #3317
Yeah. Who has ahead 26.0? Mixture of modern standard and stupid Frenchie. So long as it's split clamp (2 bolt) 0.6mm isn't going to make any difference.

hello everyone. my brother is trying to get into cycling and bought an old racing bike, which he has since neglected (in the hope that it will fix itself). i'm really keen to get him riding instead of driving and, after struggling against a stuck seat post, he needs a new seat post and a saddle. does anyone have anything lying around? it doesn't need to be good, i'm just after something cheap/free. can anyone help me out? if so please send me a PM. thanks

What size seatpost?
-
• #3321
My advice is bin it and get a better bike.
If he drives then something like £150 is nothing, like what you spent on a Tax Disc or for someone to have a look under the bonnet.
For £150 you can get a quality second hand bike or a sometimes a decent new one. Either will make his cycle experience faster, smoother, safer, less embarrassing and more fun.
Here is a good example of what you can get if you mooch around;
http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/23956/Haro_Heartland_DLX_Mens_Bike_2009He may find it a bit geeky but that is a comfortable practical bike for a new cyclist to get a good experience.

He needs a seatpost, not a reason to spend £150!

n3il i'm not really sure, it's an old puch frame but google couldn't give me any conclusive answers. i'll get some measurements as soon as i can, the bike isn't at my house at the moment. were you asking because you might have something?
DFP thanks for your advice but that's not really what i was after. i'd rather he didn't throw away a bike which could easily be fixed, and just buy a new one. i think it's wasteful and also i think that fixing up a bike would do him some good in the long run by, for example, making him more self sufficient and helping him learn more about bikes. i'm trying to foster more of a DIY approach in him because personally i think its a large part of cycling and a good thing generally (barring obvious examples of course)

I might do, let's see what size you need first!

thanks n3il and merry christmas!
Also - interms of capped head testing - mine broke on Sunday, I'd used it for two sessions. I still have it if you want it back. Maybe pop down to polo on Wed for some feedback and I'll give you the money for the pole I had from you?
