Not really.
Surly have 1" fork, says the Crosscheck one.
Is that aimed at me?!
-
• #69305
Yes, because your bike definitely needed a Crosscheck fork to compliment it.

Sure, but that's £70 for the fork plus the cost of new headset and stem - whereas a Dirt Drop stem is £40 from Freshtripe (when they arrive), I can use my existing headset, and it fits the bike aesthetically/is period-correct.

^^ Is that Gleb's old Miyata?
-
• #69313
And TM could you not get those forks straightened out? They do really suit it
or colour match the carbons
-
• #69314
TM don't listen, the forks work and carbon feels better than steel anyway.

Nah, the blades don't seem to be fitted into the crown correctly, can only assume the builder was hungover that day. I quite like the carbon... Looks better in the flesh, which has always been the case with this bike, and i'm expecting an improved ride with the carbonz.
I think it is Gleb's old frame, and sorry to the new owner, but once you gone 10-pitch you can't go back...
-
• #69316
I don't mind the carbon.
I just love pink bikes

Scorch deffo wants to sell me his Bridgestone :P he told me
-
• #69318
If Gleb = scorch, then no, it's not his old frame. This one belonged to a finnish track racer. Bought it with an incomplete DA 7500 group and returned it to almost factory spec.

Finally after having this hanging in the ceiling of my warehouse and finally collecting the parts i decided to put this together.
Dave Marsh 753t 24" front wheel lo pro built as a spare bike for a local rider for the commonwealth games some years ago. I replaced the original front wheel with the Hed CX as the original front was way to thin and delicate looking.
The bike was originally also built with gold Campagnolo cranks which i kept and replaced with Campagnolo pista cranks and bb.
Sorry for the bad phone pics my battery died on my camera

Nope Planet X has all his bikes actually!

Not getting a bigger ring as would require new sprocket = £100+ on new cogs. Also the Turbo is my favourite ever and hate white saddles.
Maybe gumwalls, yes.
I was thinking all-white decals and black suede microfibre tape (taped all the way up to stem). Thoughts?
Black bar tape, that would do it.
