hmm, I'm suddenly impulsively tempted by this. Was just thinking how I fancied a ride that wasn't a commute, it's been bloody ages. Is fixed/front brake two brakes?
As the another famous doctor, and I am not speaking of Johnson, would say
"Com'on, what's the worst that could happen?"
Two brakes is really needed on the down hills, s/s is the smart option, but do-able fixed. The crew are splendid, and if it is half as much fun as last year, we will have a ball.
Oh, and for anyone else who is wavering, no one will be turned away as long they are braked up and ready for a rare adventure.
And maybe, to close, some words from the Dean himself, which shows that maybe the hubris and deception of Dragon's Den is nothing new.
"He had been eight years upon a project for extracting sunbeams out of cucumbers, which were to be put into vials hermetically sealed, and let out to warm the air in raw inclement summers. He told me, he did not doubt in eight years more, that he should be able to supply the Governor's gardens with sunshine at a reasonable rate; but he complained this his stock was low, and he entreated me to give him something as an encouragement to ingenuity, especially since this had been a very dear season for cucumbers."
