^^ I could lend you an even bigger territorial cat to scare it off ;-)

Any details on the attacking cat? Male/female? Old/young looking. Do you know the owner? Is there an owner? Neutered?

Is there a specific spot that the cat hides in wait to attack Poppy? We have bits of wire fencing in front of any bushes that were being used as bird ambush spots & they cut down the casualties by a considerable amount.

Is Poppy fully grown yet? In my experience the males seem be territorial outdoors & the females more so indoors. Male & female trouble is usually of a different nature & earlier in the year.

The old water pistol tactic is always good for discouraging them a bit, without causing any harm. Never had this trouble personally as there's always been a dominant male in the household who's kept intruders at bay.
