  • One of those spot the bike thief things. This chap steals bikes in Sutton.

  • ^ lol

  • Anyone recently lost a white condor fixed in the elephant area. Saw a guy pushing one along but did not look like the type to ride fixed and the frame looked too big for him. Seemed like a 58cm.

  • A blue Mercian Audax bike has been spotted for sale at a ridiculous price in North London. PM me if you've lost one.

  • almost got my bike grab off of me this morning, picking up a bag in new x, standing there looking at my phone for direction while this mexican guy walks up and goes
"ah very nice bike, how much did u get this for?" and grabbed it, picked it up and about to turn around and walk. i was like..WTF are u doing!!, grabbed it back and went for my d lock and he said "hehehe very light" and walked off..

  • Hehehehe very light

  • Unlike a d-lock round the chops...

  • Some dirty thieving scrote nicked my bike from outside the Kenton pub in Hackney on friday night.https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr...a=ltm&t=m&z=18

I ride (or more correctly, rode) a Raleigh Record Ace which I converted to fg and the front wheel was a Mavic Aksium with eight reflective stickers on the rim and the rear was a black 40mm deep rim bought from Varno. Both wheels had Maxxis Detonators.

The reason I'm focussing on the wheels is because I found the bike locked up and I nicked it back!
When I came out of the pub and saw the lamppost where I locked it devoid of my bike, I charged off down the road looking for it. there must have been some kind of subliminal homing signal because I walked past three tower blocks and onto a big estate about 200 metres away, where I found my bike locked outside a tower block, minus the wheels (and, strangely, the water bottle holder).
I've looked for them on ebay and gumtree but without any joy. I'd love to get the wheels back and would appreciate you guys keeping an eye out for anyone selling them.

    tl:dr
    Some cunt nicked my wheels.

  • My girlfriend had her Brooks taken on Saturday.

Honey coloured, copper rivets, ladies saddle from the 80's.
I smudged the ink on the label at the back when I tried to polish it.

If you see it on gumtree etc, please send me a PM.

  • It's from Josephine!, who will now be needing a replacement saddle. PM me if you got a ladies brooks you want to sell...

Sorry to hear this - how was it locked? The Kenton is a bit of a bike theft hotspot. Not helped by the fact that you can't see your bike from inside.

Yes, I'd like to know how it was locked, as well. A friend of mine had superglue stuck in her lock outside there a while back. She had access to an angle grinder though, fortunately.

I did a stupid thing and used my cable lock instead of my d-lock.

I didn't know it was a theft hot spot, but I can kind of see why. The Kenton's only external camera faces away from where most of the bikes get locked up, the tower blocks nearby don't have any cameras visible and its not exactly a thoroughfare with lots of foot traffic, lots of tower blocks nearby too so lots of cunts looking to take other people's stuff. The Kenton really should allow people to take their bikes into the beer garden. They've lost me as a customer when I'm on the bike.

I'm still blown away that my bike got nicked and I was able to find it and nick it back, only losing my wheels (which I'm still on the look out for).
Is it worth going to Brick Lane to look for wheels rather than a whole bike?

  • Very distraught at the moment... someone stole my locked up Colnago with Record dual pivot era throughout. I had owned it for nearly 17-18 years. It was locked up at my local library so whichever youth took it had some guts with CCTV everywhere and two locks on my Colnago! Pics attached and if anyone sees anything can they please inform me. It must have happened between 5.40pm and 7pm and my local library - Manor House Libary in Lee, just behind (The Bike Shop) Youngs bike Shop...

Just really distraught... I have called the police and the CCTV should reveal tomorrow who took and carried a locked up bike physically!
