If they wanted me to commit to a year I reckon £200k would be the absolute minimum I'd consider. Even £1m a year and I'd genuinely not say to myself 'fucking great' - I'd still have to think whether I wanted to put myself through a year of hell for a bit of cash.

I seriously do not see why anyone would put themselves though a year of no culture, ex-pat twats, mall-hell, dust, dirt, bigoted, corrupt government, risk of war kicking off in middle east, risk of getting locked up for farting, etc etc etc

Depending on where you are in the UK, the only culture you'll find is growing in the bathroom. Also, expat twats can be avoided - we live in a building with no Brits. Mall-hell is everywhere, as is dust and dirt. The UK is one of the most bigoted countries on earth and the Government there is an absolute fucking disgrace - which they demonstrate with alarming consistency. Steal something here and lose a limb. Steal something in the UK and go to a holiday camp for 3 months. There's more chance of a war in Somerset than there is here and people should be locked up for farting - it's disgusting.
