  • Not cycle clothing but this seems the best place to post this...

    I've need to stock up on some gym kit and need some tops, primarily traditional crew neck shirts. I need about 8, so don't want to fork out a lot.
    Also need to buy a few sweatshirts and a new fleece.

    It is ages since I've been shopping (!) Where is the best place to go?

  • What's your budget Shoosh? Dirt cheap, mid-range or higher?

  • It's okay.... Done...

    Anyone who wants a complete bargain go to http://www.jjbsports.com right now... T shirts and stuff £1.99.

    bought 6 t shirts, a hoodie and a hat for £25 inc postage!!!!

  • Oh nice one! I was just composing a long post about other options, assuming you'd like to try on before you buy.

    Sniff

    Google = 1 point
    MM = nil

  • Oh no... I'm sorry.

    The idea is that what I buy is dirt cheap because hopefully I will be needing MUCH smaller sizes in a few weeks ;)

  • Sounds drastic. Don't be too tough on yourself. It's never good to gain or lose too rapidly.

  • No, it's fine, I'm not doing it too quickly, just sensibly, but am expecting some good results, particularly as I know I have had in the past and most the excess is down to my body being out of balance.

  • Sportshoes.com often do good sales (especially after Christmas). Check them out for gym kit. I'm also a convert to TK Maxx although the quality of the stock depends on the shop

  • The sealskinz extra cold weather cycle gloves are worth the investment...I have really bad circulation too and have recently been slipping in disposable hand warmers inside

  • So I bought some tights.. some very noddery Altura night vision tights. They do make me feel better riding down Holloway road in bad light though, I light up like a crimbo tree!

  • Anyone have any links to legwarmers designed for those of a shorter stature?

    My gf is 5'3 (at a push), and I have the Santini ones in size M, which are probably about the right width for her, but waaaaay too long. Aside from rolling them up, I'd be interested to know of any women-specific or dedicated products for smaller people

  • Minx girl used to do some Sheila Moon ones but she only seems to have arm warmers at the moment. Maybe try emailing her (Debbie): sales@minx-girl.com

    Interesting. I hadn't thought of that! I'm 4'11 and my Decathlon legwarmers are like footless tights without the top section :-).

    What about kneewarmers and long socks?

  • I've been using some of the assos knee warmers, which are actually quite long. (I'm pretty tall, and they come down to mid-calf on me) So maybe see how knee warmers work?

  • I bought a merino top today in Gap- was supposed to be £40 but they're doing 40% off everything so it was like £24: it's sort-of base-layer shaped but is nice enough to be worn as a top.

  • probably the wrong time of year for this, but would anyone be interested in a pair of swrve womens 3/4's (cotton) size small ?
    I've just been clearing out my closet and decided to face the fact that while I love these, they'll always be just a bit to tight to be comfortable..

  • Ooooh picture please

  • ^ will get some tonight

  • I wear mine with thick tights: non-cycling or full-length padded ones.

  • I'm still in my softshell shorts, I just wear leg or knee warmers! Although to be fair, I can't wear them in the summer as they are a bit warm...haha.

    I've bought a few merino pieces in there recently (cheaper than Rapha).

    Which did you go for?

  • ^^^ apols for the delay

    I just realised pictures aren't very clear.. i can email them if anyone wants/ take better ones. but basically I've worn them for about a year so there's a bit of wear to the seat. I'd say good condition, no holes/ tears etc.

  • Do you know what the waist size is?

  • size small. don't know if their sizing has varied over the years but i'll give them a measure tonight

  • waistband measures approximately 28 inches
