I frequently buy shiny bike components at a "bargain" price. Then start looking for a new frame to attach them to :-/
I've also forked out extra for non - performance enhancing components that cant even be seen. Titanium freehub anyone?
Although saying that, I also make sure that fork steerers & handlebar ends receive a mirror polished finish after cutting them down :-(
