• so why are you insisting on nexus 7 then? :P

I actually do really like Android these days. The Nexus 7 is a nice toy, especially for £150. Sure, I'd prefer an iPad but the Nexus 7 was cheap enough to justify. I mainly use it to stream music wirelessly to surf the web in the evenings, but not for much more than that. It a few minor glitches from time to time but it's more than tolerable as a device of leisure.

However, the phone gets much more usage and all of which tends to be urgent. All the functions of a phone need to be reliable and work exactly when needed. Interacting with Android on a regular basis just pisses me off more often than not.

Plus, the main reason I've put up with with this Android phone for so long (about 2 months – I surprised myself) is because I much prefer the stock UI to that of iOS. I'm loving the way the look and feel of Android is progressing, they're putting so much effort into UI/UX and it's refreshing to use something that isn't smothered in fake leather, gloss and stitches – I really disliked the way iOS was heading. Skeuomorphism can seriously >>>>>. However, now that Jonny Ive is leading human interface design at Apple I think we can expect to see iOS become as nice as the hardware it's wrapped in. Which I'm very excited about, both as a designer and a user of these devices.
