So, some good and bad news, and an exciting new product.
Firstly the bad:
In short, a few months back our supplier sent us the heads we ordered in HDPE, rather than UHMW. They then agreed to send us some replacement UHMW heads, which were promised to be here last month. When they didn't turn up we tried to contact them over and over again, but they've simply stopped responding to us.
We had hoped we could rebuild a working relationship with the supplier, but due to these events such we are no longer going to work with them.
We are very sorry for all the delays due to this.
Now the good:
As such we've found a new supplier, based in the UK. It will make it a lot easier for us to work with them, the response times on orders will be much quicker, and we will be able to do smaller production runs, meaning we can innovate quicker. In addition we've had feedback from some of you, that you'd prefer a UK made product, which we completely understand. The downside for us is that the manufacturing costs increase quite a bit. We will honour any existing orders, or quotes, but we may have to slightly increase the price in the future, but we'll try and keep it as close to £15 as possible.
So the exciting news is, we'd like to announce what we think is a world first, a head in green UHMW-PE! (Please let us know if someone else has done green heads before, but we've not heard of it).
We've ordered an initial run of 100 heads, and they will be in stock on November 21st. About half those are already assigned to existing orders, but we will be putting the rest up for sale shortly.
We've refined the design slightly, the outer diameter is now down to 60mm, from 63.5mm, and we've added a little more material to the internal corners, at the cap, and open end, to give a longer life. We expect the weight to remain pretty much the same as it is now.
In the meantime we still have the HDPE heads, which while an accidental product, are a great budget head, we love playing with them, and for £6 we don't believe there is a better product on the market. We currently have about 400 left in stock, but they are selling quickly.
