Just dropped my iphone3 15ft off a ladder onto concrete, not a mark on it. It's been soaked, full of dust and through all sorts of other shit without a case
If I ever kill this one I'm gonna get another. Proper nails.

conversely I know someone who snapped theirs by sitting down with it in their pocket.

admittedly mine's fallen out of my pocket whilst riding along tooley street, a man walking his dog found it in the middle of the road and i got it back and the only damage was a crack in the cheap plastic case. think it might be down to luck how they hold up tbh.
