  • Comfy bars, if a little flexible. Still not 100% pleased with the hoods position, can't get that hawt flat bars-to-hoods transition with the shimano levers. Granted, I think that's the lever's fault. See e.g. :

Mate, that's lookin loads better already but I reckon that if you line up the cut end of the bar parallel with the head tube like in the second pic below

and refit your levers, you'll find the transition will be pretty flat and they'll also be more comfortable in the drops! When I suggested the Tektro levers, I'd forgotten it was a geared build. I'd say move things about a bit and you'll want stick with what you've got.

  • So I turned my Gios frame into a porteur with parts that I had lying around.
    Winter bike

    Sweet ride man!!

  • ^^^ Yeah, considered it but it would be a Pro (alu) version with a white stripe, which I don't particularly fancy - the black series one is carbon and doesn't come in 27.2. The Thomson works for me at the moment.

  • Finish bike on Thursday if all goes well. Watch this space

  • Mega want a Klein frame. Love the paint

  • talking to the guys from Civillian about the Le Roi Le Veut.

Really dont wanna pay $300 shipping!

  • a full build cost £550, shipping is £190, is there's no other bicycle in the UK that's also within that price range?

  • I thought you didn't want disc's

Let us know if you get anywhere, I might be interested in a couple of months in the geared version.

  • Modern compact bars must only be used with ahead stems.

Compact drops on skinny steel frames.. look really anaemic

Probably has more to do with the size of the frame. I think they look better on skinner steel, smaller size. Flat transition always essential.

From experience, I recently fitted some hwy one's on my track after trying b123, b125 and Criteriums. *Much *prefer the compacts aesthetically and, well, comfort wins also. haha. (no surprise)

Pffft, he hasn't got a clue 'bout what he wants.

    Hotness.

I prefer the Nitto M106 on the Feather to the HWY ONEs I have on my commuter, the bend is a little tighter and there's a more defined sweet spot for your hands. The Somas are fine though, nice and comfy.

  • I considered that civilian, but couldn't be bothered. I ended up getting a pompetamine to get the build started. fwiw I like the geometry of the pomp more - except the slope.

  • Don't understand why so many people hate the sloping tt on the Pompetamine. I love it. Front end on that Civilian is so much nicer tho.

  • nah, ht too beefy (tapered steerer is cool tho).

A girl's allowed to change her mind, right?

    Sure

I would purchase one of these very happily.

Will do - If this doesn't work I'm copying it and getting it build in Poland.

Pffft, he hasn't got a clue 'bout what he wants.

I do. She's 5'8 from East london with a small scar to the left of her bottom lip

  • Ew, I wouldn't want to see a lip on her arse.

  • The Chirico gets it's test ride this afternoon. I'm going to find it incredibly hard to part with after all this...

  • mint

Cheers babes, here's a couple more just for you.

I really should learn how to take a decent picture. And carry a decent camera.

  • ^ That Feather's always a joy to behold
those bars and brake levers really suit it - probably more so than the Nitto/crosstop combo.

Are these Competitive Cyclist shipping costs? Could'nt find international shipping costs on their website

But I too would be interested if you find a cheaper way to get them across.

Agree, looks ace with that setup.
So nicely understated too, on first glance you wouldn't know it was anything special unless you really knew your bikes, but the more you look, the more special it becomes.
Some of the little details on that frame and current build are pretty much perfect.

  • Cheers guys.
