My amp is buzzy to the touch, needs earthing? Who will do? NR Brixton? Can't get in touch with Alf electronics.
mine too... why is this? and how do I earth it?
:(
I am also in this boat. Would be keen to know what is going on. Attempts to google the situation have been flummoxed by millions of hits about feedback in guitar amps.

maybe try 'grounding' instead of 'earthing' for non uk hits
also use minus 'guitar' or some of the more common guitar amp companies -

There's probably some forum rule against doing this, but I have some audio equipment for sale in the classified. The amps and speakers are gone but there's still a very good mixer and 2 pairs of quality speaker stands....

Just picked up these Sherwood PM-9800 turntables. Was after a cheap player but these were local and not much.
Very new to vinyl so wanted a inexpensive introduction. Seem alright. -

On a budget, Etymotic Research ER20 are a good choice.
They also offer models which are moulded to your own ear shape which require a consultation. This is what you see professional musicians occasionally use.
Avoid wearing cans.
i used these when i was in a metal band (yeah i know, but i like my hearing) found them very good, stayed in easily, and didn't just cut highs. -

Belt drive. Am I right in thinking I just need speakers and an amp to get going?
-
• #790
Yep! As long as the amp has a phono stage.

Im looking for a CD player and amplifier if anyone has anything they want rid off. the one catch is that the Amp needs to be able to power some old 4ohm B&W speakers.

Hobo, I've got a marantz cd80 sitting in the loft... It weighs a metric shit-tonne so cycling with it is out of the question.

You lucky mother...
Big Tannoy dual concentrics are on my wishlist - have heard a few an have always loved their sound, just need a room big enough to do them justice
cans are better than in-ear headphones though. I've used er20's (I'ev got more than one set) but I find them a little large and they are slightly obtrusive. I liked the alpine music safe ones with the exchangeable filters, they are smaller, it's less obvious your wearing them and you get three for when you lose one, and you can keep them on your keyring.
