also ive never used shimano pedals fixed before and have had unclipping problems when on my mtb so probably going to be switching to Time very soon. in the meantime i have just increased the spring tension. does any one have a pair theyre willing to part with for a low price or trade for these m520s

spd are fine riding fixed as long as you have the single direction release cleats.

I've unclipped on single direction. ordered atacs that very evening

^no.
I know you edited, but you're still wrong.
SH55/566 are both multi. and not necessarily silver.
multis should have a huge M on them:
single release is SH51

^ Id be interested but atac pedals are expensive and I'd need 2 pairs >.< hmm...

take this opportunity to fit a brake.especially if you're planning on riding brakeless.
FTFY.
Broke my brake cable on my way to work yesterday, will be replacing it this weekend, my average speed has dropped from 17-18mph to 15.5mph.

One pair, swap them around.
Apollo, how do you tell when atac cleats are done? I know their lifespan is shorter than spd which is endless.
Just get an Alpina fork, 23mm rake, looks good and used by alot of companies under disguise of paint.
