  • How much would a pair of bespoke leather gloves cost roughly? I've got customised fingers, and it's getting cold.

  • What hubs are in the Navigator wheels that Dolan sell?

I think they are Novatec, but to be fair to KT Industies (Quando), their cartridge bearing hubs are fine, it's only their super cheap loose ball hubs which are a bit shit, and that's a case of getting what you pay for, not any deficiency on the part of KT

  • Great, thanks again tester. Dolan say the hubs are sealed so if they're Novatec that's a plus, and if they're Quando, they're at least not bottom of the range. I reckon they'll be worth a punt then.

  • Having seen a picture in the friday smiles thread, i just read about Fiorenzo Magni on wikipedia.

can anyone recommend a good book about this era of cycling?

Not exclusively about that era, but has plenty about it, and is an excellent read.

  • Cheers Ron, will look it up.

  • What Shimano pedals were made to fit a BB with a star-shaped spindle, rather than square taper or octalink? Were they any good? I've been offered some, but will they be problematic?

  • i would rather attach pedals to a crankset than just the bottom bracket

  • Aaah, shimano CRANKS you knobber.

  • Good places to get free/cheap boxes in town? I'm moving flat

Your equivalent of a liquor store?
These boxes are usually extra strong, and sometimes smell good.

  • Does anyone know any good board games that can be played well with just two adults (but also more)?

Ideally things that aren't to obvious and can be played again. Even better if they involve strategies.

    Cheers.

  • Dixit!

Oh wait, you said strategies. Chess?

  • Go.

    Stratego.

(No idea if it's still made, but it was fairly addictive back in the day.)

  • Can anyone recommend a shop or website for digital photo printing/framing? I want to get a couple of pictures from my honeymoon done nicely and it's hard to tell what the quality is like online.

I've used photobox before. I got some photos printed and they were good, but I also got some posters made and had to send them back 3 times before the quality was right. If that helps at all.

    The Digital Room

I've had them do 4x3 all the way up to 40inch prints onto MDF and they're fantastic.

  • Fuck me, I just went to post up on the music thread only to find... that there isn't one?!?! Is this true? All I can find is a small one on the Polo forum and gulp a house music thread.

Carcassone is great, and works well with two. The basic game is very good, but when you get bored of it, you can start to buy the expansions.

there's one for dub music, classical, metal, non threatening pop music, garage music.... probably one for every type!

  • ^ None of which seem suitable to post a link to the amazing new Trail of Dead album...

  • What about this one, which is almost always on the first page?

  • ^ Ta! Couldn't find it because I was searching for 'Music'.

chester jefferies have a one time bespoke fee of 20£ and most of their glaves are in the 40£ range irrc.

  • what is the inside diameter of a sturmey archer sprocket?

I must admit that I don't think Carcassonne works well with two players, but then I have all the expansion sets. :)

  • The base game does. Maybe not so much with all of the expansions, but you can add one or two and it's still good.

Better with more players, true, but still good with just two
