Pretty sure I'm running 55". Which together with crank arms that are theoretically 13mm too long, is fecking horrible on the road.
Off-road it rocks though. I learnt to ride off-road as a kid, when I pretty much owned a BMX throughout my whole childhood (hence my distrust of gears). Once up to speed you cant spin the cranks at a constant smooth cadense alla roadie. You give small intense spurts to keep your speed up. Much like riding a BMX. Then when you hit a steep section you can grunt up it.
So 32:17 for 55". But I'd be tempted to go lower 32:18 maybe.
