This bike is the Pandora's box of LFGSS. As long as Iain doesn't let it leave the house it's fine, but as soon as he rides it who knows what evils will emerge...
It might as well say 'Hephaestus' on the down tube, instead of Dolan.
The difference between Pandora and Iain is the the gods don't seem to have vested any curiosity in him, so he seems to have no desire to find out what riding the bike is like.
We, of course, just like the gods, know that Iain's riding the bike is inevitable, just like the gods knew that Pandora would open the box.
And just as Pandora feared the wrath of the gods, Iain fears our reaction when he rides it and breaks it, which we also know is inevitable.
So basically he might as well just ride it and get it over with.
It's super safe if it doesn't leave the house.
