I'd say that was about average these days in terms of the amount of single player content. Long gone are the the week long marathons - probably for the best. Cuts down on cases of thrombosis I suspect.
New Hitman? is that not Absolution? Wasn't that slammed for being a bit naff? Seem to remember negative headines a month or two ago (but didn't investigate so I may have misread).
Only ever played the first Halo - didn't appeal.
Interesting that you should say cinematic shooters = a tired format. I'd say the opposite was true - though not necessarily limit it to shooters. My understanding was that consumers wanted to be more involved in games and take on the role of a character more now than ever - i.e. more interactivity, more filmic etc.
With games overtaking movies and music as the most valuable entertainment industry (a $50 billion dollar market that will be worth $90 billion by 2015) I think that'll only increase.
