This was x50 better than Half Life 2, not to diminish Half Life 2, but Half Life 1 updated is so brilliant.

The disaster concept is so much better than the fighting the combine in the future sillyness. I didn't even take on board any of the plot of Half Life 2, it didn't make any sense. Half Life one is brilliant, simple and atmospheric. The most perfect game I've ever played. And I've played about 7.

Just been playing it.

The very best part of it is actual subtitles which the original HL didn't have, I have no idea if the in-game dialogue is the same as the original, but for the first time ever in decades I finally can follow the story (it's pretty much self-explanatory to play HL without knowing the story).

I was very surprised at how well made this community project is, the attention to detail is obviously not as high as HL2, but high enough to appreciated the amount of work each individuals have put into it.
