BTW, formatting poetry and within-text images for the Kindle is a nightmare, and the whole upload/conversion thing is random. I now hate html. Gird your loins if you ever want to upload an ebook that's anything other than straight up prose with no pictures.

Downloading to Kindle now - the premise looks fun. Had a quick read of the prologue already, the rhythm is looking good so far!

Soft returns for the win? Sorry if I'm teaching to suck eggs but too few people even know they exist.

#frustratedtypographersuniteLooking forward to the print version. Two great forum books in a year is a nice surprise.

I sort of thought about that, but then you get weird behaviours, where code saying soft return actually works as a double spacing between stanzas/paragraphs. Then you do a load of stuff, it looks fine on the previewer for this device or that device, but then having downloaded it for another device, it looks different (above and beyond what you'd expect taking into account user control of font size, etc.).
Ultimately, I grew sick of the process, and reached a stage where the semi-randomized result suited me, and didn't impede on the rhythm of the piece. It's quite spaced out. So is some of the writing :D

Luddite, I'm waiting for the paper.
Congratulations on the book!
Hello - I've written a book, and here it is:
The ebook (for Kindle or Kindle app) can be purchased here It's less than the price of a pint in a chain pub, or the price of a half in a fancy London boozer.
I would be very happy if you'd consider buying it, and then writing a review on amazon.co.uk, should you enjoy it in any way.
A paperback edition, with all the benefits of a paperback edition - nicer font and layout inside, new book smell, etc. - will be available via all the Amazons in about 8 weeks. I'm just waiting for a few proofs to approve. There's also a strong possibility it will be available to buy in Look Mum No Hands, both instore and via their webshop, and we're currently discussing launch party/book signing options, however low-key they may be.
On a personal note, the challenge of sustaining iambic pentameter in an accessible fashion for the whole thing, and creating something that any cyclist should be able to relate to, at least in part, proved too much for a while, and I shelved it. This year, however, turned out to be one filled with British cycling success stories, so I pulled my finger out, and Faith (my wife) stepped up too.
If you buy it the ebook, or the paperback when it comes out, (or both!), I really hope you enjoy it.
