Landis started a whistleblower case sometime ago which, if successful, would mean Tailwind Sports (of which Armstrong is a shareholder, despite claiming he wasn't) would have to pay back the federal funds from the USPS sponsorship deal in full, a figure north of $50m.
It is in his interests to maintain this is a witch hunt and hope it all blows over.
