Hold on, the Lotus is considered to be one of the best cars this season by many pundits including Jackie Stewart. They have been consistent throughout the season and have not had the development peaks and troughs that McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari have had. If they had a number two driver who was actually capable of completing the first lap and not attempting to kill the entire field they would probably be genuine constructors championship contenders. The fact of the matter is that with Kimi's experience, track record and the car he should have won a GP this year but hasn't, an anomaly given that he is still third in the driver's championship.
Why would he switch to McLaren, which in your esteemed opinion, is a better team whose drivers happen to be below him in the championship?
Agreed on all points, however quoting an opinion of Jackie Stewart that agrees with you just makes it easier to dismiss the argument.
