That's great news, thanks for the detailed explanation, and yes, letting the water run away is definitely more effective than holding on to accidentally collected water! Am looking forward to testing out the new firmware! So far, very pleased with the lights!

Just bought a Fibre Flare.
Does the job. -

Mine is in a post office in Minsk, I can hardly wait for it to arrive. I haven't been this little-kid-excited about a bike gadget for ages.

Now that both of mine are working correctly (cheers for your swift response to my email rr4m) I'm also really impressed.
Looking at taking some photos of them going together shortly...

does anyone know how to work out which light pattern is which - ie - so the back one and the front one are on the same pattern - can you tell just from the stationary flash pattern before they are spinning - I'm colour blind which might explain why I struggle a bit but jyust wondered if I'm missing something really obvious..?

You can't really tell without getting them to move. If you have the same libary set on both of them, you can pause them and shift them on one at a time and count I guess.
I find that if I turn my head fast so that I'm just catching them out of the corner of my eye, I can sometimes see the pattern in them then.
Don't know if that is helpful!

thanks.. well at least it confirms I'm not missing anything - I've not managed to work out how to do my own library as I am also pretty useless with computers but am going to have another go this weekend... I had problems with mine at first but in the nd it was only a combination of rain and hit ane miss rechargeable batteries - was made up using them last night with them both working properly - I hope the lad that makes them does really well out of it

You need a Twitter account to be able to create your own library, but you can download public ones that other people have done without it.
Once you're signed in with your Twitter account, you need to create a new library, then each of the patterns offers you the choice of adding it to a library when you put your mouse pointer over it.
Once you've put the patterns that you want into a library, you then download it, and use the software that is on the site (under Download) to move it over to the light unit. I found that my unit was a bit tempramental about the USB leads that it would accept, but once I found one that worked, it was fine.
Let me know how you get on...

Got my lights on and had the first spin with them on Monday night, one of the few benefits of it getting dark in the evening is having these on front and rear. I've not got round to going to the library and now they are tied on will probably just stick to a shuffle mode.
Any one interested in a group evening ride? Would look pretty cool

As promised - software update ver. 0.559 with 2 'rain modes' is out (aka touch buttons lock)
First one disables touch buttons completely, so you can only turn device on (turning off is by unclicking the battery).
Second one adds Power Off by holding Power On – experimental though, in current design 'On' button is not wired to the chip, so that is tricky, done by measuring and averaging the internal 'band-gap' voltage diff – tried to do my best :)Both modes just for testing. As for me, in drizzle the default mode is just okay. And I love touch buttons :)

Mine is in a post office in Minsk
It arrived Yesterday, works fine. It was happy with the first USB cable I tried once I plugged the other end directly into the computer rather than using a USB hub.

The stuff I have on offer here
http://www.lfgss.com/thread93736.html#post3212767
can be stuck on rims (really good on deep rims) wrapped around spokes, and stuck on frames, so it works very well side on (as well as from the front or the back). It is really reflective and it is completely free. Currently you get a piece of red, white, gold and fluoro yellow, but the fluoro yellow is almost all gone. pm me for some. -

That looks like the best update yet. These lights really put the monkeylectric ones in the shade.
I'm loving mine.

Or email him at contactus@leduswheelus.com. That's what I did. Got a quick response with due date. Top service.
One more thing – rain water as well as distilled water is a pretty bad conductor (unless you add salt of course), so generally it won't short circuit anything. But it can change capacitance of touch areas and between microchip pins as well.
Other than that, when a wheel is spinning, water is removed naturally with a centrifugal force. The faster you go – the bigger is the force, right? Personally I won't recommend covering devices with bags or tapes – they will gather all water inside :) Simply let centrifugal force do the trick!
