    • 1 excellent rears.
      The brackets are horrible though.
  • You can get perfectly decent lights for a couple quid.

Poundland even does decent lights for £1 a pair. They are the same kind that used to cost about £6 on ebay a few years back. I used a set for ages, they were fine but the batteries died a little quicker than quality lights and they were slightly less robust. But still good.

Well times have changed since I last bought cheap lights.

  • Just done the de-rig at a rave in shoreditch, while waiting in the van for the load out saw all the punters go, at least 50 on bikes, all utterly off their chops on pills, coke, balloons and overpriced RedStripe and not a single light between any of them. Scary times...

I want an invite next time...

i think in this instance lights are the least of their worries

  • my hallway last night was like a disco in a brothel ...as i tried out my rear lightsfor the first time this year thought this year i'd go for two rears and a headtorch for the front

Many low speed shunts and mounting bike fails on show. To the guy riding brakless/footrentionless while chewing his face off beyond anything I've seen before, shortly after throwing up while unlocking - good luck, I hope you made it home alive...

    GSlAD?

  • yup, trying to mount your bike after the 8th pint is definately hazardous
i've spent many a minute hopping with one leg slung over the top tube trying to get the other one over too ... which actually wasn't what i was trying to do at all

it's like those films of people trying to mount a horse starting on one side and ending up standing on the ground on the other side of the horse ! all very funny till someone gets hurt !

  • hmmm lights, I have some, but I always seem to lose the brackets during the summer and then can't find them again, then they seem to be tied onto my bag with string and tape mostly.

Can someone recommend an adequate set of lights which attach to the bike without the need for brackets. Pretty please because I find it really hard to be interested by bike lights.

for cheap lights moon lights (m 3)and revolution flash silicone are good for more expensive lights exposure flash/flare and Moon Shield 60

  • great stuff! my membership is up for renewal!

  • Just bought one of the new Knog 4v blinder rears. Slightly awesome. Well thought out in all ways.

  • Anyone else got a set of Fiks reflective stickers? My rear wheel now looks like this in direct bright light: http://instagram.com/p/QTAjZ8Phf6/

  • No good for me, I got brakes.

  • You can run them with brakes - they come in a bunch of different sizes for different wheel/brake combos.

  • exposure flash/flare bought these on ebay - the ones I lost the brackets too go in the side pockets of my rucksack for side lights

Have these been mentioned yet? Lights built into seatpost

No hassle or fuss? I guess you need to take the seat post out every time to change the batteries?

  • Anyone recommend a decent clip on rear light, preferably with flashing mode?

I use the Brompton saddlebag which is open at the top, so there isn't a loop for attaching a light - so it needs a clip (reasonably strong one, so it doesn't ping off over a bumpy surface).

I have a Skully rear light but nowhere to really attach it, unless I offset it slightly on one of the saddle loops.

  • Unbelievable number of people last night without lights.

Get some fucking lights you idiots!

  • No good for me, I got brakes.

Just put it on half the rim and just time your braking well.

  • I think the fact that it's getting dark between 6-7 is throwing stupid people off, because at 6 it's light enough that you could go without lights, but if your commute is longer than 20 minutes then by the time you're halfway to your destination it's almost dark, but people don't seem to think that far ahead because they are morons.

Really want some of these! Shame most of the sizes are sold out.

IME the RSP Astrum is good value and very bright. There is a pic here of the mounting system and the clip so you can see if it works with your bag.

  • Just ordered the Cateye Nano Shot over the Trelock 950LS, price was the decider and from the reviews I had seen evenly matched, then Evans did a price match online for me for the Cateye.

  • Hey guys, I saw our website was getting a bunch of referrals from LFGSS.

I just wanted to explain that we aren't out of any size. The sizes that are unavailable are due to the combination you are picking. The disc brake size only comes in 10mm and the rim brake size comes in 7mm and 14mm.
