Three bikes were taken from our back garden in Blackheath last night.. I came down this morning to find the fourth one lying on its side on the path next to where I store the bikes. It must have been moved out of the way to get at two of the others. I guess there were only three of the thieving bastards and the last one was too big.
Stolen Bikes.
A light grey Aluminium Langster, a stripped Corvino alu racer and a women's Marin Larkspur hybrid.. Pictures below. Both the Langster and the Corvino have forum history - I got them from Jallaphanti and Eyebrows - and they were my first single speed and geared builds - again mainly from forum bits - so I am pretty pissed-off they've gone.
The Langster is 58cm, was resprayed at Armoutex, has the original carbon fork and a newer carbon seatpost than in the picture. It also currently has a silver chainring.
The Corvino had been handed on to Mrs HMS, who put on the orange tyres so it should be fairly easy to spot if someone is riding around town on it.
The Marin is as per the stock photo except it has weird-shaped cork bar grips and a steel bracket on the sloping top-tube for a child seat.
Please PM me if you spot any of them around or on eBay etc.
Thanks
Howard

There's a massively chubby rudebwoy with big hair that i've seen riding around Tulse hill with his Fam on an single speed E14 Bike Co for the last couple of days...
He's either riding stolen goods or really really positive and ambitious about losing all the excess fat he's carrying...
I hope (but doubt) its the latter
P.s. Apologies if its you, but man, that's some proper monster-truck spare tyres you're carrying...

Another tale of bicycle crime from the hotspot which is where the Well Street meets Mare Street
- photographer walking along the road with a bicycle minus its front wheel, having parked his bicycle nearby
- a man is spotted (scavenger-type with baseball cap, quite short, with Asian appearance) carrying a lone quick-release bicycle wheel
- man challenged by the photographer
- scavenger-man boards the 106 bus heading north up Mare Street to make his get-away
- both of us caught in indecision decline to pursue
bicyclists 0 scavenger-of-stolen-bicycle-parts 1
musing: could have challenged the scavenger-man better by grabbing the wheel, making more of a public scene on the bus, and threatening a Citizen's Arrest (!!).. next time..

The council should work with Hackney Bike Workshop, salvaging stripped bikes to enable HBW to build bikes with young offenders. Or something.

Perhaps they do already? Have you discussed this with Zebra Cyclist or the council?

I know it was only a Langster but I really liked that bike. It got me back into cycling (rather than merely riding a bike)

Someone's nicked the stem and bars off a Fuji Track I had chained up in the supposedly secure bike store outside my flat on Tarling Street, E1. I was in the process of sorting it out and had taken the brakes and cranks off. Is that an invitation to others to start stripping it of parts?
Depressing.

wow. leave a note saying "FFS this bike is not abandoned, bring my parts back!"

Don't worry, already on the hunt for something equally tasteful.
Think I just saw a red Pearson unlocked, propped up against a tree at the junction of old street / shoreditch high street. Unless someone was just being brave!
