  • Tester = Timetrialler - came 6th in the BBAR (best british allrounder) and rode for San Fairy Ann cycling club

  • After buying the blue Roy Manser track frame in 2009 I contacted him.

Although he said he was retired from building he was willing to make others, on request, for a reasonable price.

I've got his phone number somewhere although you can probably it on the web.

I believe that frame is in Japan now.

  • What's this frame called?
I see it's a MBK and some says it's the mirage model, but i cant find something called that. So please help!

  • looks like an MBK Mirage to me
~Here's one up for sale on a french webpage -http://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/341356138.htm

  • But I cant find that color anywhere, and it seems to be original

    • What could the color be called perhaps? :)
  • py8706150 is the number under the bb, however I can't find any info of that type of serial number, is a step trough frame rather light with no forks so far an some simple lugs. I'm not that bother to find out what it is, is just seems rather light compare to her old frame which it was a gas pipe raleigh caprice.
I'll get some pictures as soon as i clean the nitromors!

  • ^^ There was a mirage pro, better tubing, better groupset - details here http://www.lfgss.com/thread81615.html

  • Well let's call it a Mirage Pro then.
Where can i find specifikations or geometri - because some have troubles with the post size..

  • py8706150 is the number under the bb...

That format suggests Peugeot, certainly a large scale manufacturer.

This page makes things even less clear...

  • Thanks Rik and DMC, thats good a start. Did a little more looking around the interweb with the added info, came up with this picture. Roy Manser looks like a bit of a rad grandad.

  • i could be wrong, but is that Roy Manser riding dmczone's Roy Manser?

  • Recently bought an old track frame from an old bike dealer in manchester. the frame had no stickers but the guy said he believed it was a British made 50's era frame, but thats all the info I have.......anyone have an idea what it is??.....(sorry about the poor quality pics :/)

  • What's this frame called?

I had this bike in purple, mine was an MBK Trainer.

I've seen them as Trainer, Mirage & Mirage Pro. As for the seatpost all 3 Motobecane/MBK bikes I've had have taken a 26.2mm.

  • Can you help me with this frame:

  • What size are the wheels and tyres? 27" or 700c?

If 700c, the seat bolt has a Gazelle Logo - worth exploring whether the Serial# location and format match Gazelle.

The wrap-over seatstays on the other hand looks a lot like a Carlton - so if it has 27" wheels this would be a good first port of call... check both the raleigh and worksop carlton serial # formats s to see whether yours matches...

The components don't offer much of a clue as I think they're a bit more modern than the frame.... The stronglight headset, Maillard L/F hubs and Weinmann brakes are european, but the suntour gears are japanese.
Check the hub bodies for a date code. Don't recognise the logo on the chainset, but that may also give some clues.

Although the lug lining is rather hilarious, but the frame looks nice enough

  • Looks like lugs were lined with a catapult.
From the other side of the road.
    By stevie wonder.....

I'd go with Carlton, due to the wrap over, although others used this too.......

  • Although the lug lining is rather hilarious, but the frame looks nice enough

wanted to ask the op, if he did it himself
    with a marker pen
    blindfolded
    and drunk

sorry mate no offence but these outlinings are just wow:)

  • Hi guys,

Need some help identifying these Lugs, I'm abit new to all of this so any input would be great.

    Thanks!

    Shimano 600 Arabesque.

    Innit?

  • ^ Correct - can't believe I didn't spot it at the time

  • Hi guys,

I need some help figuring out what frame this is. To be clear, it's the purple Peugeot in the front.

    Cheers in advance!
