@andypancake. - I totally agree. It's the exact reason why road conversions are never any good in my mind. From riding a conversion to a fuji track, despite it being nothing fancy it has the right geometry and that's what makes it so fun.
There is a way of making 'slack' road geometry fun. You have to go and ride it on the (rural) roads it was designed for. There it will feel better than a track bike.
Also don't asume all road frames are stable. My Concorde road frame (running fixed) has a steeper HA and shorter wheelbase than the Fuji Track I had (with the same TT length).
