Well, I don't believe in changing the rules after the race has started.
Good, that's a clear and final decision.
I feel that it's not really worth finding and presenting a trophy when there is only one qualifier, but if we can get some more competitors next year we will have a trophy, and we'll engrave Tester's name on it as the 2012 winner.
As to the Sporting 27, I hope some of you will want to ride this event even though it's nothing to do with any other competiton- in any case it was always intended to be a fun event, and I hope that's how it will turn out. It's slightly unusual in that it's over three laps of undulating country roads, and although anyone can ride on any machine, fixed wheel riders are especially invited. A special incentive for them will be announced on the day. This will only be the second edition of the event, but the first one, run in 2010 had good coverage on London Cycle Sport which attracted a lot of attention.
Details are on the Hounslow web site, but the course description is missing. I will see that this is corrected before the event, but I am about to go away for a few days so I can't do this before next week.
If you want to enter send me a pm, and if you wish to be included in the handicap section add your best recent 25 performance (plus the course and the winner's name and time.) Of course, it should be possible to enter on the line, but by entering in advance you will make it easier for the organiser, and we will be able to have a planned starting order.
