I'm no bianchi expert, but they're a big company like Raleigh: they've made a wide range of bikes at many price points...
Are there any other stickers on the frame? or is it just celeste paint that make you think it's a bianchi....
Best place to start is the frame serial number - This will be found on the bottom bracket (or the seat lug if it's a particularly old frame).
If you Google "Bianchi Serial number" that's a good place to start...
Here's a couple of leads

Are there any Bianchi experts here? I have a frame that I'm told could be one but I have no identifying features codes logos apart from the paint colour.
I'm new to all this and it's my first post and buildCould you post some pictures of the frame, its lugs/joints, the bottom bracket-detailing the serial number if possible?

Quick place to start - what's the bottom bracket, are there any markings on it.
If it's a BSA BB (1.37" x 24tpi) it's not a Bianchi, but if it has an italian bottom bracket 36mm x 24tpi then it might well be. -

It's off to be stripped and powder coated at the moment so I don't have the frame.

Looks like a bianchi to me - mid-late 90's

The bottom bracket is a BC 1.37 x 24 I think. Sorry like I say I am new to this

A friend of mine who has a little knowledge of bikes gave me the frame and said it was a bianchi. I was dubious but as it was given to me I had nothing to lose and he knew I wanted a project.
If its not its no bother but I'm just curious as to know what I'm working with. -

Thanks for your replies I'm sure I will be picking your brains throughout the build

No worries, good luck with the build - are you sticking with the Celeste or is it being powder coated in a different colour?
-

I'm in two minds I have short listed the celeste and a baby blue. I'm awaiting a call to say its been blasted and all is ok then I have to make a decision.
-
• #2616
The precise tone of Celeste is pretty sketchy - Both will be absolutely fine...
Compare the colour of this frame with the company banner behind!

You see,I'm in two minds as to wether its a bianchi as the frame is totally clean and no lug work on the joins. That to me would suggest that it's not.

Also the forks which are made in china says its not a bianchi but then I have read on the Internet that bianchi outsourced a lot of the fabrication and assembled them in Italy. Who knows??

Just had a quick look on the interweb purely out of curiosity - Did bianchi do cheap Tig welded steel frames in the mid-late 90's....
Here's a 1999 eros - looks like a good place to start...

^ Curvy chainstays and vertical dropouts though, but food for thought!

Hmmm. Mine has the cable guides running in the top tube. No lugs. Which I cannot find another bianchi having. My first find was a sprint frame and was convinced it was one but the cable guides and lug work weren't the same. I think the colour is a red herring. But what ever it is its very light. Not put it on the scales yet but I will do when I get it back.

I think Celeste is a nice name for an ugly colour.
The bluer end of Celeste is ok.
Blue bikes are nice. -
