bigchainring is a troll, and has chosen this thread for his/her amusement. Which is a shame, as until last week it was a useful resource, I certainly learnt things from this thread on how to be a better cyclist.
Unfortunately, you can't argue with a troll, all the responses he/she makes are straight from the book of internet trolling (can't debate? attack the poster/declare the debate invalid).
So I suggest everyone just ignores him/her, as at the moment this achieves nothing. (and don't say you are ignoring, just do it).
It's a shame, as I suspect he/she has some valid points to make, but has hidden them amongst a lot of posts which do nothing except to annoy everyone else.
Finally coming up with an idea, but seems unable to take any constructive criticism of that idea, if he/she was serious, they would hopefully work together with others to realise that idea. But it strikes me as unlikely that's the motivation here. Please prove me wrong.
Anyone has the right to give anyone else advice, on any subject, and the person receiving that advice has the right to ignore it. But banning any advice from being given? no, that doesn't work.
Every cyclist will do some things better and some things worse. I have given advice in the past (usually well received), and I have taken advice from others (also usually well received).
If you see me cycling dangerously (to myself or others), please let me know.
