Cheers but I'd rather not set up an account if I can avoid it. Any recommendations for professionals greatly received.

You can borrow the car, just don't prang it.
Is that a dogging euph? -

Would stripping the paint off an aluminium frame, polishing it, re-applying decals and clear-coating it be as straightforward as it sounds?

i've seen British Cycling have a club membership at £88-250 that provides third party insurance (page 14). would that cover the club/ it's officers?
Yes, that's the principal purpose of affiliating to an organising body these days. BC club cover only covers general club activity, not organised rides & races for which separate cover is needed. CTT affiliation covers time trials promoted under CTT regulations. Neither covers claims against individual riders. Individual membership of CTC or BC(Silver) is suggested in the absence of any other personal public liability cover.

I built up a bike for a mate and he wants me to write him a receipt for this - for tax reasons.
I bought parts and used stuff I had lying around - what is the general consensus for this?
And how much would a shop charge for labour of putting it all together? -

Would the USE track chainring fit onto a pair of these?

I ask as it looks as if it would have to rotate onto the spider, if that makes sense.

Android-Robot Robot-Android
lol
Fell into my trap :-)
Androids are robots that look like humans.
Not robots that look like robots.
Hence my question. Has nobody at Google ever seen Alien? -

Can anyone remind me how to work out how much rearward dropout movement I will get by reducing my chainring size?
Tester, I've seen you refer to it, but can't remember where.
At 48/18 my rear wheel is 'slammed' in the track dropout. I need to move it back to accomodate some SKS mudguards. Trying to work out if a reduction of a couple of teeth at the front (in time for winter) or new chain is in order.
Does that make sense?
EDIT: Found it on SB.

Would the USE track chainring fit onto a pair of these?
I think it would as long as it has the tabs which the chainring bolts go through.
I had a problem fitting a USE chainring to a messenger crankset where the "tabs" would of had to be machined and thinned - which could be an issue as it was for me

Which has the better braking capability: Dual pivot (e.g. road) or centre pull (e.g. CX)?
Having a pub debate with Fred.

Apparently vitamin C does nothing to reduce the symptoms of a cold (according to wikipedia, anyway).
A 2010 Cochrane Review concluded:[7]
The failure of vitamin C supplementation to reduce the incidence of colds in the general population indicates that routine prophylaxis is not justified. Vitamin C could be useful for people exposed to brief periods of severe physical exercise. While the prophylaxis trials have consistently shown that vitamin C reduces the duration and alleviates the symptoms of colds, this was not replicated in the few therapeutic trials that have been carried out.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C_megadosage#Common_cold

It's not a plasma cutter bolted to the factory floor. Robot. -

I think it would
I think it wouldn't, because the USE ring can't pass the solid pentagon when rotated 36°
Filing the chainring would work, to make the space inside the inner tabs of the chainring into a pentagon rather than a circle, as shown on the attached pic
There shouldn't be a problem with the thickness of the spider tabs as long as SRM have copied Shimano precisely to keep the chainring spacing to the correct spec, since SRM use Shimano rings.

Which has the better braking capability:
Define 'better'. Since either will lift (in the case of a front brake) or lock up (in the case of rear brake) the back wheel, there is no material difference.

Why would you want to use anything other than those beautiful Shimano rings?
DuraAce road rings are not very well adapted to track racing.

Why not use one of the track SRMs?

Idle speculation on my part having spotted a cheap DA 7800 SRM on eBay.
The track ones almost never come up.

Re: own brand Berocca
Does it taste as nice? I tried Boots own version and it was rank.
I found Superdrugs version didn't dissolve as well as Bootsis's, both tasted the same, not bad, like an off Fanta.

I have loads of Berrocca in the cupboard that I won't use - anyone want it? It's been there a while, might be out of date...
BBE 01/2008. maybe not then. -
• #35449
It'll be fine
-

I didn't get on with them (even when they were in date). tablets, not the fizzy ones.
At a guess you want the gin delivered and not in me....
Can drive if you need it. Street van?
