Regarding the Home Button. A few months ago I found mine to be really unresponsive, taking sometimes 3-4 pushes to get any sort of response. I scoured the net for solutions, some involving cleaning, most advising to get it replaced.
I happened to be passing an Apple store so took it in for a look. I was shown how to close all open apps which were running in the background which were essentially slowing down the phone and therefore the time it took to react to the Home button. Double-tapping the home and then holding down on an app (like if you wanted to move an app on the home screen) will bring up a red X. touch the X to fully close the app. At the time I couldn't find this anywhere on the web, which was strange.
Haven't had the unresponsive Home button issue since.
