The guy I get my coffee off orders from there. He orders for about 10 people so gets a big discount as the order is over £100. Normally only 1kg at a time (i get 500g via I'm special). I could split a kilo with anyone who is interested next time he is ordering? usually about £15 a kilo. Just got the house blend this time but there are a few single origins I wouldn't mind trying.
He orders from Coffee Plant?
£15 per kilo is about their going rate and you can buy as little as 100grams.

Brilliant, well done, you can google. Did you also happen to find out you get 40p per kilo off for not getting it ground? But, wait! There's trouble afoot!!! We forgot about delivery!!! £4.50 for a courier, shucks, what will I do now? My £13.60 1kg of House Blend is now £18.10!!!! Fuck!!! Oh, wait, I'll just go back to what I was doing and let me my mate buy in bulk so I can still get it for £15/kg, because I'm not a fucking moron.
What was your point?
Anyway, he (anyone) gets a 20% discount because the order is over £100. This happens because there are usually 7 or 8 people buying a kilo each or sub-groups buying a kilo and splitting it.

Sounds like you need a coffee break.
They do special rates for trade too. Can grab a better deal that way. Or just travel a mile down the road and get an even better deal.

For any City types that might populate this thread, I would like to recommend Association Coffee on Creechurch Lane. Was treated to an Ethiopian offering yesterday rather than the usual Hasbean blend for my mid-morning flat white and was impressed. Both are good (and I am using Hasbean at home at the moment) but the change was welcome. It turns out they will be sampling a variety of new beans in the coming weeks. Well worth a visit.
They also sell what I consider to be the finest brownies in town which I understand come from a chap that delivers by bike called Little Bread Pedlar. These things are special - get involved!

Will have to try the brownies, best ones I have had so far have been in Tapped & Packed.

Regarding the coffee ride, I was in Workshop (St Ali by another name, near Baker Street somewhere) on Sunday. I asked if they'd be agreeable to 20-odd cyclists arriving all at once on a london coffee geek trip... they said 'yes'.
Not sure if it's on the list yet.

brought a bag of ground union coffee the other day as i couldn't be bothered to go off in search of beans - for ground coffee, it's really decent. way better than the last pre-ground shop-bought stuff i got.
ground quite coarse though, so better in a cafetiere than an aeropress.

Can you buy Union coffee in many shops in London? I looked on their website, but didn't spot any mention.

Union - I think waitrose stock em?
Speaking of Waitrose shop-stuff, I got some Grumpy Mule (but from the Coffee Fest). Was quite happy with them. Worth a look.

Knot (the indie pretzel chain) in Clapham Junction and Wimbledon use Union and sell bags of it.

:Dchain = more than 2 stores.
Oddly the pretzels are decent. And the coffee (from the Clapham site) is usually very well prepared considering it's from a stall at Clapham Junction.

yep, that's where i got mine from.
first thing i've ever bought from there, is ridiculously expensive. the stoke newington yummy mummies can't get enough of it though
Wholefoods stock it.

I'll have a look in Wholefoods and Waitrose then. Just need to check they aren't too stale.

Gails bakeries use it, and will sell it to you with a little persuasion... expect to pay a hefty amount for it though :(

Coffee Plant on Portobello road also do a good Honduran. Just a shame I can't find anyone who does any Panamanian.
Good tip - I didn't realise this place even existed and it's a 15 minute walk from my office. Definitely going to check it out this afternoon...

Fucking Allpress. 5 people moping about rather than serving the growing queue, then having to explain what a fucking aeropress is, then waiting a good 5 minutes to get my coffee ground and finally I get it handed to me as 'stovetop'. Stovetop? Yeah same thing mate.
Maybe it is, but if you're selling a premium product please hire staff accordingly
I did find a few on Amazon - Bodum make and 8 cup version and Hario also make a 3 cup version. This looks exactly like the Hario one but only £25 for a 5 cup version.
Almost worth a punt at that price.
