Okay, i swapped the bars on the Scott with the chrome ones off my single speed, which seems to work well. Ditched the old pedals, going to look for a new front chainring as the old 44T one has chipped teeth, then hopefully find a decent rear cog and spacers.
Meanwhile, the single speed commuting bike is going to get new, non-cheesey, brakes tomorrow.
