^^^ I have some of these. Grip is great, but they're not padded at all other than the sponginess of the neoprene. Grip is so good in fact that caution must be excercised when riding in them as forgetting about the grip and doing that wipe of the nose action which involves pinching the top of your nose between thumb and finger and then dragging pulling your thumb/finger down over your nostrils and off the bottom is like being assaulted with sandpaper and feels like you've just removed half a dozen layers of skin!
They're the warmest gloves I've every used, but they do so by sheathing your hands in warm sweat. Lots of people comment that this gives you wet hands and that's fair enough, but nobody mentioned that it leaves your hands absolutely stinking. I've only had these a short while and think they're going to be a one wash for every 2 or 3 wears item. They also take forever to dry out and because of the sweat thing, need it after any decent ride, regardless of weather.
