  • How did Derby get on today?

  • How easy it is to predict the appearance of those cunts from down the road.

  • Sunderland took quite a bit of stick for spending so much on Fletcher. How many have Borini and Suarez scored so far this season?

  • Does anyone know how the fuck those useless cunts at qpr managed to get Julio Cesar?

  • He was their best player yesterday by far

  • Inter signed Handanovic, and have Belec and Castellazi in their squad.
Reduced wages was the key thing I reckon.

    Liverpool again looked toothless.
Man City showed again that they can be beaten. Stoke showing that a point at the Brittania is never easy.

Wonder if Tottenham will get a W today...

  • Hope not

  • Thinking Spurs will win comfortably. Or at least score a few goals.

  • Baggies fans, your lot are nuts for letting us have Simon Cox, what a player! He doesn't score bad goals.

  • Now that AVB actually has a (fairly) complete squad I hope we can crack on with the season. It feels like the media have been all to quick to jump on his back since we got rid of rent-a-quote. 3 games into the season and people are booing and saying he's out of his depth, get rid etc. Give me a break.

Edit: I should add that I don't think every decision he has made has been the right one

  • ..And there he is starting Defoe and Gallas again, the two weakest links so far this season.

  • why won't he play lloris?! So frustrating!

  • ..And there he is starting Defoe and Gallas again, the two weakest links so far this season.

    not that weak...

  • Friedel has kept us from losing in both of our last games, would you bench him for someone who has been with the club for no more than two weeks, and will only have trained with the team for a few days? A lot has been made of this by the media, lots of complaints that Lloris should have played against West Brom, he wasn't even eligible.

As for Defoe, yes definitely not weak if you don't make space for your advanced midfielders to run into, and don't bother to look up when your team mate has made a good run in the box. His greed angers me so. Gallas got bullied by Holt and Lukaku.

  • I watched the highlights last night, and we were impressive going forward but also wasteful, and we'll get punished by better teams if that continues.
From the match reports Siggurdson, Dembele and Sandro were our best players, especially the way they interchanged positions and looked to pass through the midfield. Lennon looks like he's learning some new tricks and his run and siggi's pass for the first goal were a delight.

The media seems to be creating pressure on AVB, the storyline is he hasn't changed from his time at Chelsea, he's still the autocratic, awkward man manager who alienates his players. The lloris is a non story, he's got to fight for his place, and not just walk into the team, that sends the wrong message and does nothing for team harmony if the players playing well and in the team know that as soon as someone else is fit they will be out of the team and back on the bench.

Read that Levy had given AVB an ultimatum of win soon or your gone, which feels absurd with so few games played and the performances whilst not world beating, at least progressing.

Reading didn't offer much, which I'm thankful for, as hopefully this result can give us a bit more confidence and we can kick on.

I'll get a chance to see AVB's rotation policy in full on Thursday when we play Lazio in the Europa League match, and it'll be nice to see a Spurs team actually taking Europe seriously again.

Actually quietly optimistic we'll get a result, and if we don't it'll give us a marker about how much we need to improve..

  • You're.

  • Does anyone know how the fuck those useless cunts at qpr managed to get Julio Cesar?

    Cash...and plenty of it.

  • I'm a Liverpool fan, and to watch a full 90 minutes would be considered a degrading and inhumane punishment under the Geneva convention.

  • I was struck my the ordinary-ness of Spurs team yesterday.

They have a smart looking back 5 - potentially as good as those in the top four.
But from then on, I think it looks a little bare and un-inspired.

They missed out on Willian and Moutinho and signed Dembele and Dempsey (both good players) but I don't agree with their letting go of VDV on the back of the past few performances.

  • @ Jeez, since when are we in a conversation/discussion/debate.

    Jog on.

  • Haven't you got him on ignore? #surprised

  • Tenderloin, I thought we looked good, albeit against lacklustre opponents, but I'm thinking the Dembele, Sandro, Huddlestone, combination (2 out of those 3) gives us enough deep lying/forward thinking midfielders to be able to play out quickly to Lennon and Bale.

Think we are placing alot of pressure/weight on Siggurdson's shoulders, to be the creator behind the lone front man, but maybe he gets subbed off Dembele is pushed further forward and Huddlestone slots into midfield..

Bale has to take another step up this season, and Lennon has to prove his worth isn't just about pace, otherwise Dempsey will be starting out on the right..

VDV was never going to be happy to sit on the bench, used as an impact sub, or be hauled off after 60/70mins. And I think he would have disrupted the team in his attempts to get more playing time, also as mentioned previously, he's not particularly happy being defensively minded, and working back for the team.

One other thing, is that if Sandro and Dembele create a good solid midfield partnership, which seemed to be the case on Sunday, then how does Parker fit in, and where? I love Parker for his enthusiasm, dynamism and constant harrying of the opposition, but Sandro and Dembele look like they can do that part of his job as well as adding more going forward...

But hey thats why AVB's manager and not me...
