Hey everyone.
Started off riding bmx, then switched to 24" cruiser bmx, and looking to complement it with my first fixie.
Came here mainly to lurk ;)
Might ask some questions too butit won't let me start a new thread. -

The chances are the questions you want to ask have been asked before.
Also, if they're relatively straightforward, or you really can't find them by searching, ask in this thread.

Hiya! I come here via the magic of not knowing what I'm doing. :) I was trying to fix up an old Carlton Cobra, but every time I looked for info on how to do things, I stumbled across people singing the praises of fixed/ss.
Curiosity got the better of me, so now I have an SS project, and even more questions! :P

Similar story here spatul. Although I've been interested in getting a single speed for a couple of years I've never had the time or money to really get into a project.
I bought a rust bucket last week though so just going to play around with it.Complete novice, mind.

Alright? I'm Jay. I work around central London and hack about on a much loved old Langster steel.
LFGSS has helped me out a couple of times, so I thought it was time I started giving back.

Hi I'm Steve, I live in a village called Yaxley (near Peterborough). I've riding bikes for years, including long distance Sportives & Time trials. I successfully completed the Flat Out in the Fens 154 miler in June this year in 8h 7m.
I have decided to pack up Time Trials and have bought a 2012 Specialised Langster on Fixed/Fixed wheel, I intend training on it all Winter and the trying some track racing next year.
Any tipson riding fixed would be very welcome.

A second hello, I've been on the forum slightly too much over the years, but have never been involved in meatspace. I'm headed for brunel product design this year, and while scrabbling around trying to avoid living in a plastic box on campus, I noticed how close it was to the canal - after a few months avidly searching the internet and trekking around boaytyards, I'm now sitting aboard a 40ft norton canes above marsworth top lock, on my way to london.
Hopefully I'll make it to wests soonish, and I think I'll be heading to paddington or camden every now and then for a long weekend.
Incedentally, any other forumers at brunel? I have spoken to moog a bit, I think he graduated this year though.Brunel in Uxbridge has some great tow path rides out to harefield and Rickmonsworth. There is the slough Arm of the canal that will take you out to windsor and you could go into town to Camden or Hackney etc, .

Hi all!
Always wanted a bike for general commuting and finally got one! Came across this forum and it looks like one of the best communitys, can't wait to be a part of it!
I'm a bit of a noob to all technical stuff of a bike and how to suit it to how I want it, any links to noob guides would be very helpful!
I got a Charge X Griffin Plug with a few mods on it and I am in love with cycling after less than a week!
Thanks all :)

Hello,
Manchester chap here. Been riding fixed for just under 9 months and enjoying it immensely. Started getting involved with some big group rides going in Manchester recently, hope to see it grow. Getting into building now and a friend recommended checking this place out for parts.
Currently riding a frankensteined State.co frame

Hey,
Thomas from Tunbridge Wells here.
I have been into basic mountain-biking for a number of years, but this will be my first foray into riding on the road for enjoyment rather than transportation.
Hey lfgss, been riding a battered, bruised and geared Wilier round town for a while now. I think it's lovely but have had a niggling desire to build myself a pretty little singlespeed so here I am.
