There's a Go-Cross race which runs in conjunction with the Senior race and neither BC membership or a licence is required to enter.

• #253
Excellent, I'll be entering that then

Bethlem tonight? I'm hopeful.
Hopeful? What of? Turning up, or satisfying your thirst for revenge which has been crescendo-ing through the week?
Anyway... Seniors or Go Cross?
My bike has developed tremendous shudder since last week's race. Could be interesting...

I'm doing the first round of the wessex league in Oxford on Saturday on my singlecross . If anyone about I will wearing my sharkpits jersey and looking fearful .

I'm planning on racing tonight, but am losing my voice at the moment so may err on the side of caution..
I'm almost certainly not racing, am coming down with something and, whilst I'd love to race tonight, I don't want to compromise my season by getting really ill now.

Cool come and say hello .... You riding ss as well
-
• #259
Nope geared, I need all the help I can get.

Ok , give me a shout of encouragement . I will need it as complete novice and thus way out of my depth . Changing chainring to 38 tooth tonight and swapping brakes and bars as well . I have no illusions of greatness , just want to have a laugh and improve as the season progresses . Gonna blame the fact that I am lapped by everyone at least a dozen times on the fact am running ss rather than I am a bit fat !

Am I right in saying that for London Cross league races you don't need BC membership/race licence?
Looking to do the Brighton race on the 30th, can I pay on the day or do these events tend to get a bit oversubscribed?
Cheers.

That's a Cat C race so you'll need a licence, but you can buy a day licence for £3, on top of the £12 entry fee.
Entry is on the day, and I've yet to do a London League race where they've turned anyone away so you should have no problems entering.

Hopeful of not getting stuck at work, again.
This, unfortunately, has happened. I'm out. Bugger.
I'll be back for round four, Herne Hill.

Was a lot of fun. It was bedlam (he he) when it got dark. Turned into a 'race a bit, then follow someone with lights to recover, then pass them, then repeat' sort of race.
Loved the flood lighting on the big dip halfway through the course - made the bit of forest beforehand feel really spooky. Like the beginning of ET, I suppose.

why dont they get gears suited to the terrain? most of that looked rideable anyway
-
• #268
The hill at 0:25 looked pretty darn unrideable to me.

Bet you have an idea for a bike to do it on though.

In my current sleep deprived state it would involve some sort of internal combustion engine.

They are training for the 3 Peaks.

You've changed.

Ok , here it is the machine I'm probably gonna hate after Saturday . If I survive that is .... Specialized singlecross 38tooth surly chainring 18 on the back , mini vbrakes , and other than a bit of Thomson bling totally stock .

Wish me luck , gonna need it .
Bethlem tonight: do you need BC membership? I understand a race licence isn't needed.
