Was wondering why there weren't more mentions of Chelsea's capitulation to Athletico Madrid. And also puts to shame those who believe that the Europa League is an easy cup to win...
Maybe Abramovich should have spent some of that hard earned on Falcao...
Also slightly upset by this match report, http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/02/tottenham-hotspur-brad-friedel-hugo-lloris
which reads as an attempt to make mischief, as it seems that Friedel's outstanding display against Norwich, which was a game I thought we were going to win, has now put AVB's man management to the test, as Lloris wasn't an automatic start.
It feels like a non story to me, Lloris, deadline day signing, doesn't start for team he's just signed for, not least because Friedel is in a purple patch, and the manager hasn't seen enough from Lloris to make the switch immediately. Yes he is the man most likely, as he's almost 20yrs younger than Friedel, and cost a great deal more, so he's going to get his chance sooner rather than later, but if we believe football is a meritocracy, then he's got to change the managers mind on the training pitch and in games, rather than just because of the price tag and the expectation that comes with it...
apart from that Utd stole that game from Southampton, and I'm unsure how slipping whilst trying to defend can be labelled as a defensive error..
Van persie looks worth the money, Arsenal, diaby and Cazorla are looking to prove the wenger doubters wrong.
Swansea look a good bet for top six, and so do WBA. Gonna be a good season.
