• I wanted to post this here after a fantastic job done by Armoutex.

The frame is a 1953 Holdsworth Cyclone with Nervex Lugs and 531 Tubes. I brought it on eBay with a mishmash of components (2 different sized wheels!) as a bike to build for my GF to encourage her to enjoy cycling.

It has been built up with an Ambrosio wheelset, Stronglight cranks and BB, Nitto Technomic Stem and Nitto B603 Promenade Bars. A pair of NOS alloy mudguards from Racer Rosa in Walthamstow and a Shimano 600 seat post. Dia Compe vintage brakes.

It is in no way a sympathetic resoration but it is a beautiful bike to ride and to look at (IMHO)

It is RAL 6027with Gold/Silver sparkle. Cost £80 Powdercoat. £10 headset fitting and cleaning threads. 3 working days turnaround.

Lug lining using automotive paint from Halfords: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_201987_langId_-1_categoryId_165580

Transfers from H Lloyd Cycles. The seat tube is not period. All sealed with Nuagain 2 Pac in a can laquer. Recommended - expensive but a great product.

Just need to match the grips with the saddle and fit the Decals on the downtube.

    Well done Armourtex!! Thank you!!
