I noticed that. It yelled "DO A SKID!" at me when I was leaving the supermarket this morning..

well second Nexus 7 ... and yup, screen lift on the left side, also leads to distortion on the LCD.

I give up, going to get my money back.

Go to bricks and mortar store and buy one.

It's mad you've had 2 and they've both been faulty.

ppl who kept their minor lift are now suffering cracked screens, asus want 3/4th the price to fix!!!

I love the nexus 7. Such a fantastic bit of kit. I never really felt the need for an iPad but you can see a spot in the market for the nexus 7.

Yeah I just talked with Asus directly, they are aware of the problem and dealing with returns as they happened.

I couldn't get an answer to "Why do you not just do a product recall?"

I'm guessing it's because a large number of people won't notice, and in the US the returns police is harsh so most people will have to pay when it breaks

It's good...buy there are a number of things that niggle.
Lack of flash and therefore no iplayer - have worked around this but not ideal.
Nowhere to buy movies. Rent or rip only.
Can't have multiple accounts. We want to use this as a family gadget and that's how I think tablets fit into the tech world - I don't want one each.
No hdmi out.

So, not perfect. But very good for the price.

Turns out my failed CM10 install on the SGS1 was because of a bad download, did it straight to the phone over work's wiki so couldn't do an md5sum before trying it.

Also, forgot I'd need to factory wipe it.

Almost fixed now, just need to get the GApps back and sync contacts.

Revelation of the day: you can USB-mount the internal storage when the phone's in ClockWork'Mod Recovery :-D

That has saved me many times.

End of summer app sale on Play

So if I take a full 50MP photo (or whatever the current silly sensor size is these days) and choose to upload it from the gallery app, it uploads the whole file.

Fine if I'm on wifi, but with a data allowance I'd much rather it resized it to 800x600ish and uploaded the smaller one.

I don't see a setting anywhere for that - do I need some extra image processing software to downsample images prior to upload?

That's not spam buddy, that's essential kit. I've only just noticed that getting the older type leather pouches for a mobile is near impossible, as the current styling only offers exact fit models. You are now in a great position Murts.

A friend of mine will be selling on his bog standard Desire in the next few weeks for around £50-£60 I think. Will let you know if you're interested? (He's out of the country until next weekend).
